The GILF

Newt Gingrinch, Sarah Palin, Todd Palin

Our favorite f’able grandma (no, that’s not really her) has been getting around this month. First, she quit her stupid job. Naturally, FOXNews talking heads know it has nothing to do with the fact her grandbaby’s daddy has been going Maury Povich. It’s the fact that everyone is out to ruin her life. So says Peter Roff:

There was little else she could accomplish in the remainder of her term. Her popularity, in Alaska and across the nation, made her an obvious target for Democrats seeking to preemptively knock her out of the 2012 presidential race.

Nope. Nothing she could accomplish. Except deal with the economy, create some jobs and provide any general leadership for her constituents.

As for Peter Roff, he’s a whack-a-doodle of the highest caliber, having put his fingers in every pie he can since the Reagan years, mostly playing Robin to Newt Gingrich’s Batman. His most famous quote of thousands of meaningless utterances: “This is George W. Bush’s Washington.”

With friends like those…

So the GILF now embarks on the classic media tour. TIME stuck her on the cover this week with the headline: The Renegade. Like the old WCW Wrestler.

The TIME story has a lot of talk about the kinky stuff the GILF and her boytoy, Todd, like to do in saunas and on snowmobiles. Pretty much a puff piece. Meanwhile, Vanity Fair provided some great commentary on the Palin brand this month. It also included a tremendously creepy scene of the GILF talking at a pro-life rally.

Levi Johnston, the redneck, hockey playin’, Governor’s daughter bangin’, All-American, bad boy, spent some time with New York Magazine (one of our favorites), talking about getting his baby momma’s name removed from his ring finger and, you saw this coming, doing some kind of reality television show.

Levis has also been getting around — and not just in the panties of every horny gal in Alaska. He went hunting with GQ and did the shirtless photo shoot. We will always believe that Levi’s just L-I-V-I-N. But the baby photos were not cool.

Sonia Sotomayor finally acknowledged that maybe, kinda, it wasn’t, you know, the best plan to use terms like, “wise Latina” and “white male who hasn’t lived that life.” It’s really all cool here. We say stupid things all the time. Like the time we asked our girlfriend to marry us.

Another person says he warned Nevada’s favorite right winger, John Ensign, that bumping uglies with the wife of his top staffer might end badly. This is especially awesome because not only was this conscientious man a Congressman from Oklahoma, he was also Pro Football Hall of Famer Steve Largent. And nobody knows morality like the NFL.

The SNL alum — even if we can’t recall any of his skits — gets more attention as he takes his seat as a U.S. Senator. And this makes old dude with tittles like “editor emeritus” very mad. And listen to him, he works for other paper in Washington.

Bill Clinton on Hillary Being Secretary of State (SNL VIDEO)

Darrell Hammond has been on SNL since like 1975, and for good reason. His Bill Clinton impersonation may be the best SNL Presidential parody of all-time. Better than Carvey’s George Bush and Ferrell’s W. The longevity of having Hammond still doing it speaks for itself.

Below is Hammond’s Slick Willy talking about the Hillary Clinton (impending) appointment as Secretary of State.

Andy Samberg as Rahm Emanuel Web Exclusive (VIDEO)

The below clip didn’t air on SNL last night but it should’ve because it was funnier than anything else on the show.

Barack Obama’s Chief of Staff, Rahm Emanuel, has been described as having “sharp elbows” an over-the-top foul mouth and once sent a dead fish to an adversary. Sounds like our kind of guy.

Hopefully Andy Samberg gets to bring this impression on air sometime as well as change his last name to “Sandberg” or “Sandler” so we don’t have to keep going back and fixing it.

Barack Obama Gets His FDR On

Barack Obama has announced via YouTube that his economic recovery plan will create 2.5M jobs for U.S. Americans over the next two years. He says the majority of jobs will be related to children’s education, infrastructure, and alternative energies.

Our question is…when FDR did his Fireside Chats, did people back in the 1930’s say to themselves, “Wow, the President is addressing us by this newfangled radio thingy?” Cause that’s what these YouTube addresses feel like.

Killing Turkeys Is Fun!

Sarah Palin conducted an interview with a local Alaskan station where they were slaughtering turkeys in the background. She said she was having fun hanging around the turkey killing and ended the interview with a wink.

Glad to see some things really don’t change.

It’s been awhile since Bill O’Reilly was on the Daily Show with Jon Stewart. Last time, O’Reilly called Stewart’s viewers “stoned slackers.” Things got a little contentious after that.

This time, much friendlier.

Sarah Palin Press Conference from Governors Meeting

Political News, Sarah Palin

Below is video from a press conference at the Governors Meeting taking place in Miami this week.

As expected, Sarah Palin is the focal point of the meetings, with the press directing most of their questions to her.

And this is a shame, because the so-called “media” is missing a major opportunity to ask the other governors questions like, “Can you please share jokes, the more sexual in nature the better, that you and the other governors say about Sarah Palin behind closed doors?” and “Just admit that you’ve made at least one ‘drill baby drill’ joke to your colleagues about Gov. Palin.”

Cause you know they do.
